About Wheel of Wishes
Slots are presented in various categories at online casinos: classic 3-reel slots, 5-reel video slots and progressive jackpot slots. The latter has proven to be very popular over the years, with games like Mega Moolah offering a jackpot payout that starts at a minimum of 1 million. In 2020, Alchemy Gaming upped the ante when they created a progressive slot in partnership with Microgaming. Called Wheel of Wishes, it comes with a Wowpot starting at a minimum of 2 million. This slot is available to play on PC and mobile at Gaming Club Casino! So, let’s find out more about the theme and features of Wheel of Wishes, as well as those progressive jackpots.
Overall Theme
Upon launching the game, players will be transported to an Arabian desert, filled with symbols of magic and fantasy. The colours are soft on the eye, and unlike some slots, the game is not overpowering with elements of the theme. Instead, it’s subtle but with enough hints for players to know that they’re in for a real adventure when playing.
How to Play
As with most slots, players will find all the relevant buttons on the right-hand side of the screen (or at the bottom depending on whether it’s played on PC or mobile). These include the spin/play button and bet sizes, as well as the payout table and explanation of the features. What sets Wheel of Wishes apart from other slots, however, is the Power Mode button located to the left – we’ll explain how this works further down. There are also four jackpot totals at the top of the game screen, which indicate the different progressives that could be won – these totals will continuously change as players are betting.
Special Features
Symbols play a very important role in online slots, as some of them can trigger special features. The standard paying symbols in Wheel of Wishes include:
- heart, spade, diamond, and club of playing card icons;
- potion bottles;
- amulet;
- spell book;
- treasure chest;
- genie’s lamp.
The special symbols are the Wild, which can take the place of other symbols to complete possible winning combinations, as well as the Scatter, which takes the shape of a spinning wheel.
When two Scatters appear anywhere on the reels, Power Spins will kick in, where all high symbols will be bigger and land together with wheel symbols – in addition to this, random high symbols will land on reels 1 and 5. Players also have the option to select the Power Mode button, which will increase the bet by 10x. Also, it will increase the chances of triggering the Wheel of Wishes Jackpot Bonus.
Progressive Jackpots
There is another way to trigger the Wheel of Wishes Jackpot Bonus, which is by landing a full bonus wheel symbol on any of the reels, and that’s where the progressive jackpots come in. When the wheel is triggered, players will have a chance to spin the wheel to receive one of the four jackpots, depending on which colour the wheel lands. The four jackpots are as follows:
- Mini: Starts at 10 credits
- Minor: Starts at 100 credits
- Major: Starts at 50 000 credits
- Wowpot: Starts at 2 million
Once a jackpot has been won, it will reset to the minimum starting amount as stated above. As players continue to play, a portion of their bet will contribute to the pot, which is how the jackpot will keep growing until it’s been won.
Coin and Bet Sizes
Wheel of Wishes is a 5-reel, 10-payline slot with adjustable coin sizes that range from a minimum of 0.10 to a max bet of 20 credits per spin. Other coin sizes that players can choose are:
- 0.20
- 0.50
- 1.00
- 2.00
- 2.50
- 5.00
- 10.00
- 15.00
Upon launching the game, however, the default bet is set at 2.50, but this can be changed in the bets section at the right-hand side of the game.
Big Winners
Since it launched in 2020, Wheel of Wishes paid out a string of winners on all four of the progressive jackpots. Some notable amounts on the Wowpot that have been paid out recently include 2.4 million and 5 million, while the Major jackpot has paid out amounts of between 140 thousand to 254 thousand.
Wheel of Wishes FAQs
Where can I play Wheel of Wishes?
While the game can be played at most online casinos with software from Microgaming, our recommended casino is Gaming Club. Established in 1994, Gaming Club is fully licensed and eCOGRA-certified, and Wheel of Wishes, amongst other top slots and other casino games, can be played on both PC and mobile devices.
How many jackpots are there?
Wheel of Wishes offers 4 different jackpots which range from the Mini, which starts at 10 credits to the Wowpot, starting at a minimum payout of 2 million. By the way, the WOWPORT jackpot can also be chased on Book of Atem, Sisters of Oz, and some other slots.
What is a progressive jackpot?
Whenever players are placing real money wagers on a progressive jackpot game, a portion of the bet will be added to the pot. This amount will therefore keep growing until it’s been won, after which the jackpot will be reset to a certain minimum amount.
Can I only play with real money?
It’s always a good idea to try a game first, and Wheel of Wishes can therefore be played at Gaming Club in demo mode as well. Please note, however, that winnings are not real in demo mode and, because it’s a progressive jackpot game, these jackpots can only be won when playing with real money.
Who created the Wheel of Wishes?
Wheel of Wishes was created in 2020 by software provider Alchemy Gaming, in partnership with Microgaming, and it’s the first game from this studio, available at Gaming Club Casino.
